Treatment Protocols for Women's and Men's Health

Females have three common stages of hormone related problems.

• Premenstrual
• Peri menopausal
• Postmenopausal

Each of these situations have characteristic hormonal imbalances compounded by the effects of body fat, under active thyroid, high or low cortisol levels, mineral and vitamin deficiencies.

The treatment protocol includes checking each of the above factors and prescribing replacement to optimum levels.

The male has symptoms similar to the female menopause, compounded by the above factors. Similarly male hormones levels and above deficiencies are checked and corrected.

The female complaint of loss of libido is more complex than the males, and is not a simple matter of Testosterone replacement. It is multi factorial and the causative factors are investigated and discussed during consultations.

Investigations included blood tests, salivary and urine hormonal testing. The later is the best method to detect free unbound levels of hormones. Only the unbound free hormones can easily cross out of the blood vessels and into the relevant tissues. Blood tests measure the total bound and unbound levels in the blood and a mathematical calculation determines the level of the free hormones. Consequently salivary or urine testing more accurately detects the level of the free unbound hormones. The samples are sent to Pathlab in Melbourne which has an International reputation for accurate levels. This lab also receives specimens from Europe and Dr. Bill Anton from Pathlab is an International speaker on Hormone testing.
